Pastoral Region Prayer
Father, we the people of the Catholic Parishes, Wollongong gather under the Light of Christ. We thank you for all the blessings you have given our parish communities. We are thankful to all who have gone before us, who have built our churches, schools and welcoming communities. We recognise that we are the stewards of this legacy. We pray to you in thanksgiving for all we have been given.
Your Son, Jesus once prayed, “I am the Light of the World” (John 8: 12). We go forth to journey as a pastoral region bearing the Light. Help us to be faithful to the call of our Baptism: to keep the Light of Christ burning brightly in all our undertakings.
We ask for your guidance in accepting our responsibilities to build up our pastoral region. As we join together in worship, community life, Christian education, and service to those in need, remind us that our mission is centred on Jesus Christ, to bring His Good News of salvation to the world. We make this prayer through Christ our Light. Amen.
