The Gift of Himself
Jesus did not simply give us bread.
He gave us Himself.
When Jesus declared, "I am the Bread of Life," He revealed a mystery that reaches its fulfilment in the Eucharist. At every Mass, Christ offers His own Body and Blood as spiritual food, nourishing us with His life and drawing us into deeper communion with Him.
The Eucharist is the living heart of the Church. It strengthens us for life's journey, unites us as one family in Christ, and sends us into the world as witnesses to His love.
As we prepare for the International Eucharistic Congress, may we rediscover the wonder of this extraordinary gift and approach the altar with renewed faith, gratitude and joy.
"Just as hunger is a sign of our deepest needs in this life, so breaking bread is a sign of God's gift of salvation."
Pope Leo XIV
